Holmestead Farms - May 10-11

We spent our first night at the Holmestead Farm this weekend. We had the chance to plant more vegetables, some berries, flowers, and mow the field. Freja and Gus were great helpers. Freja is excited to move the girls (our hens) to Vashon and is practicing hen-wrangling. Enjoy some pictures.

The garden beds with new seeds planted. Look at the compost system Phil developed under the plywood. You dig a hole and fill with compost and keep the "lid" on the prevent pests. Once it decomposes, churn with dirt and slide the lid laterally down the row.
