Quartermaster Hill Farm

For the last couple of years Amy and I have been looking for the right piece of property or house/land to buy on Vashon. Over New Year break, we met with my 5th grade teacher and middle school librarian who were beginning the process of listing their house. We were immediately captured by the land and the small house and made an offer. We will be moving into the house at the end of the school year. We are beginning to work with an architect to find an efficient way to add a couple of bedrooms. The current house is a large studio apartment over a woodshop. The short info: 2 acres, 74 fruit trees in an orchard, big gardens, totally deer fenced, view east of Quartermaster Harbor, Puget Sound, and the Cascades.

The Gus Bus in the driveway. Notice the large south-facing deck on the second floor, which makes a great outside eating area.

Looking at the NE corner of the house and the garages. Notice that the stairs to the studio space run on the outside of the building. We will be looking to enclose the stairs in a remodel/addition as we look to integrate both floors into living spaces.

Inside of upstairs space showing kitchen area.

Looking at house from field between gardens and the orchard.

View from in front of the house, looking east to Puget Sound and the Cascades. You can see the orchard near the far end of the property. On a clear day, you can see from Glacier to Rainier.

Gus and Freja exploring nearby woods early on a foggy morning.
